MATTO Seminar on May 15, 2013 at 3:30pm: Licensing Know-how
Can a TTO license know-how, get rich and still retain its soul? This MATTO seminar will show that the answer to all three questions is yes - well, maybe not rich, but richer. Come and hear from four experienced practitioners - two from TTOs who have done know-how licenses recently and two transactional attorneys from WilmerHale who have done numerous know-how licenses.

The panel will discuss issues such as: a) types of know-how that can be licensed, b) enforcing a know-how license, c) pure and mixed (with patent IP) know-how licenses, d) structuring royalties for know-how licenses, e) does an exclusive know-how license violate the open-dissemination-of-knowledge policies of academic institutions and the federal government.
Panelists: Jeff Johnson, WilmerHale; John Cosmopoulos, TuftsUniversity; and Irina Erenburg, Partners.
Moderator: Belinda Juran - WilmerHale
Seminar Organizer: Robert Benson, Principal, South Shaker Associates

The seminar is free but you have to register
