FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR, Office of Technology Development, Boston University
Reporting to the Director of Administration & Finance, the Financial Administrator manages the day to-day flow of royalty income, royalty distributions, invoicing for patent costs, and patent cost reimbursements, including organization and coordination with various University departments, law firms, and inventors to ensure accuracy. Manages database of patent actions, including patent expense and reimbursements. Work closely with the Director of Intellectual Property and Licensing to ensure that licensees are billed accurately for patent expenses, and is responsible for monitoring accounts receivable, including the collection of past due accounts, as well as determining any special payment or reimbursement arrangements. The Financial Administrator reconciles the patent and royalty income and expense to internal reports, database and SAP to ensure accuracy, and resolves any errors.
Assigns and supervises students providing administrative support to these financial processes. Handles special projects as assigned, as well as general administrative duties.
1-3 years of experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
