Director, Technology & Innovation Development Office at Boston Children’s Hospital

Boston Children’s Hospital invites applications for a Director, Technology & Innovation Development Office (TIDO). In this leadership position, reporting to the Senior Director of TIDO, you will be responsible for managing the licensing and business development staff, developing policies and procedures, and working closely with the Senior Director and hospital leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives for Children’s. Responsibilities will include: supervising staff, including mentoring and support as needed to help them get to yes on complex deals, managing numerous day to day activities of the office, elevating the practice in the department to be proactive and business oriented, developing standards and procedures for the department and overseeing budget and systems.

Demonstrated leadership skills dealing with complex stakeholders with differing priorities, balancing the needs of the institution and stakeholders goals to get to mutually beneficial solutions.

Experience establishing a strong network of business relationships to move initiatives forward.

Experience engaging and influencing key stakeholder groups to facilitate their alignment and support for important initiatives.

Experience balancing candor with diplomacy to maintain an environment that motivates and inspires employees.

Must have excellent communication skills

Must be able to represent TIDO inside and outside of Children’s Hospital

10-15 years of experience closing complex academic-business agreements and maintaining the subsequent relationships.

Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams, providing informal and formal performance feedback, training and mentoring.

Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Advanced degree (PhD, MBA or JD) required

A combination of academic and industry experience is preferred
