Licensing Officer II

The Technology & Innovation Development Office at Children’s Hospital Boston is seeking a Licensing Officer II.

Serving as the hospital’s representative in marketing, negotiating and securing transfer of Hospital-owned technology to for-profit corporations for its development and application, the LO II monitors and protects hospital interests in established corporate sponsored research programs. Identification, evaluation and marketing technology licensing and sponsored research opportunities to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical companies is the primary responsibility. Drafting and negotiating complex material transfer, licensing and sponsored research contracts and works with attorneys to obtain patents for Hospital-owned technology is also involved. Candidate will primarily work with researchers and innovations arising in the areas of Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Developmental Medicine/Autism.

A PhD in a scientific discipline is required (Biochemistry, Cellular or Molecular Biology concentrations are preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of comparable experience is required. Candidates with additional experience with clinical research in either Cardiology or Autism will be strongly considered.
