MATTO Roundtable - “Tools You Can Use”

October 2, 2008
3:00 PMto5:00 PM

“Tools You Can Use” - a MATTO roundtable to share information on software, internet and other tools and services that could improve your productivity.

Venue: Faculty Room, Gordon Hall (1st Floor) Harvard Medical School, 25 Shattuck Street, Boston

At this meeting MATTO members will have an opportunity to share their experiences (good and bad) with various software, internet and other tools and services used in their offices. How do you decide whether to invest in a new “off-the-shelf” IP management system or whether to keep using your old Excel spreadsheet or develop your own in-house program? How do you persuade your boss to dump the system you have that’s not working and invest in a new one? How do you easily keep track of all the contacts you make and share them with others in your office? Where can you find very specific market and corporate information without blowing your entire annual marketing budget in one week? There are lots of bright and shiny products out there, many have a large price tag attached while others are free so how do you decide what to use.

Short presentations reviewing some of the major tools available for Customer Relationship Management, IP Management and Marketing will be followed by a roundtable discussion on resources used by MATTO members.

Moderator: Michael Pratt, Director, Translational Research and Corporate Relations, Boston University

Discussion Leaders: Mary Auge, Business Development Group, Partners Health Care; and Mike Manning, Director of Technology Transfer, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Pizza Reception and Networking at 3:00- 3:30 PM.
